Vinted Shoppers Voice Anger Regarding Sizing Modifications

Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.

Digital Channels Response

Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration.

Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services.

It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.

Measurement Approach Modifications

Before the change, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Shopper Experiences

A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products".

"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.

Marketplace Information

The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users.

It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
