Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Poop with the Goal to Find the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have found a variety of entertaining creations from small studios. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer features a hero that is literally a piece of poop striving to travel to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
Player controls is easy to grasp: just use a jump control. Across numerous challenges, encounter tough enemies and unlock a store to buy customizations for your fecal avatar.
Execute your jumps with caution, since one wrong move forces restarting the level. Jump using floating orbs to launch the poop to new heights, traverse crumbling surfaces, and activate triggers to unlock secret routes. Earn coins and use them on more difficult levels in which things intensifies.
Visually, the game shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing background music. The retro art of moving basic polygons may remind gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.
Even though tough to recall similar titles where you control a coiled turd, interactive entertainment have long incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ feces as plant food. Naturally, such content shows up heavily in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.
Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already earned notable accolades, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available at present on Steam, with the full game planned to launch on computers in the fall.
